On 24th March 2001, an open air sunset concert to raise funds for the H.K. Society for the Protection of Children was held on the lawn of the H.K. Country Club.  The well known pianist and broadcaster, Nancy Loo performed the Saint-Saens piano concerto in G minor.  Bruchˇ¦s Kol Nedrie was played with Anna Kwan as soloist.  Bach's concerto for oboe (Makiko Kawamata) and violin (Cheng Siu Sing) was performed in the original form this time.  Handel's Harp Concerto was played with harpist Teresa Suen Wan Ting and the children in the audience joined in the fun with a rousing performance or Leopold Mozart's Toy Symphony.

On 18th February 2001 the SAR Ensemble, combined with the H.K. Chamber Orchestra, performed at the H.K. Cultural Centre.  J.S. Bach's concerto for oboe & violin BWV 1060 was transcribed for flute & violin as the oboe soloist (Yiu Song Lam) was ill and his wife Izaskun Erdocia performed with Chui Tan Lee.  Brahms' 4th symphony in E minor was the other work played.   The concert was to raise fund for The Society for Abandoned Animals, HK.

On 17th September 2000 at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, the world famous Chinese violinist Yao Jue played Mendelssohn's violin concerto in E minor, well known H.K. Soprano F.F. Poon sang Mozart's "chio mi scordi di te" Kv505 with Sou Hon Cheung (a recently U.S.A. returned pianist) playing the piano part (which Mozart played in the first performance) and accompanied by the SAR Ensemble. The concert concluded with Beethoven's 6th symphony, Pastoral.  This was for a local charity, The China Literacy Foundation.
