Music Director and Conductor Chiu Kai Keung
K.K.Chiu's extraordinary talent has earned him international praise
and his wit and ability to connect with audiences has endeared him
to the people of Hong Kong. A graduate of the Hong Kong
Academy of Performing Arts, Chiu made his debut with the Hong Kong
Mozart Orchestra in 1988. His talents were soon recognized and
he was appointed Music Director of the Hong Kong Medical Association
Orchestra in 1989 and as guest conductor of other orchestras.
In 1999, he was appointed Music Director and Conductor of The SAR Philharmonic Orchestra.
Over the years, he had helped to raise over HK$50,000,000 for Hong
Kong and mainland charities. Chiu has also appeared with
orchestras in Korea, England, France, Portugal, Australia and China.
From 1993 to 2005 he has been a full-time lecturer at the Hong Kong
Institute of Education. Since 2005,
Chiu has concentrated his efforts in music education and conducting. |
