• Alex Ling, Chairman

Alex joined SARPO at its inception in 1999. What began as a simple intention to play in an orchestra evolved into a great blessing of friendships with like-minded musicians, meaningful charity work and music-making so fulfilling that he is moved to share this SARPO “experience ” with the HK public and music enthusiasts.

Born in Hong Kong, Alex was exposed to classical music at a young age through piano and cello. He later moved to Canada, gaining qualifications as a chiropractor as well as the experience necessary to be a better musician.

In his musical journey, he has had the privilege to play under notable conductors such as Sir Andrew Davies, Tan Dun, Kurt Sanderling, Jaap Van Zweden and K.K. Chiu.

In Hong Kong, Alex has been a cellist with the City Chamber Orchestra, the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and of course SARPO.

Sharing good music with his chiropractic patients and treating the spines of his musician friends puts a smile on Alex’s face. He hopes to continue building meaningful connections with people through music until God calls him home.
